About the Kent KeyLink service What information can I register on Kent KeyLink? You can register up to 3 keyholders, your preferred trades services (boarding up companies, glaziers, plumbers etc). Top How much does it cost? The cost for residences is £20.00 per annum including VAT and for businesses £25.00 per annum excluding VAT. Top
Do I have to pay online? No, you can still register your details online but select the invoice/cheque payment option. When you have completed your details you will be presented with an invoice. This can then be paid by cheque or sent to your finance department for payment by bank transfer. Top My subscription When will I be covered from? If registering online using PayPal you will be covered immediately. If you choose to pay by cheque you will only be covered once the cheque has cleared, you will be advised in writing. Top How long does my registration last? Registration is for one year. Top How can I update my details? You can do this online
1. Click subscriber login 2. Enter your unique user name and password 3. Click update your details 4. Application form displayed with your details 5. Make the required changes by deleting or over typing details 6. Click save profile Top What happens after I register? You will be sent an email to confirm your subscription with your User Name and details. A pack detailing your subscription and usage details will be sent out to you by regular post shortly after. Top What happens if I forget my password? You will be able to obtain a reminder via website. Top How many keyholders can I register? You can register up to 3 keyholders within a 20-minute radius of your address. Top Can I register more than one property? Yes you can, you will need to pay the appropriate subscription fee for each property. Ensure you use a different user name for each property. Top Can I register multiple properties with the same keyholders? Yes, but you will need to pay the appropriate fee for each property. Top Who has access to my information? Your information will be accessed by Kent Police Command Centre and emergency services in line with the Data Protection Act 1998. Top I’m going on holiday, should I tell you? Yes, there is an option to update your details on the website. Top Additional Information Do I get special service from Kent Police by registering? Being a member of Kent KeyLink does not give you any special rights but it does ensure that the police know who owns or occupies the premises and who to contact to obtain further guidance in the case of an incident. Top I already have an alarm fitted – why should I sign up to Kent KeyLink? It depends on the alarm system you have. There are two types of alarm: • Audible – or “noisy” that is NOT monitored by a central station or by Kent Police. This type of alarm is dependant upon someone contacting the police or local authority should it be activated. • Audible – or “noisy” that IS monitored by a central station provider. Should this be activated your nominated security company will of course contact your preferred/ nominated keyholder to deactivate the alarm.
If your alarm is not monitored or connected to a specialist monitoring agency you are dependant upon someone to call either the police or local authority to find a solution. Registration with Kent KeyLink will ensure you or your nominated/ preferred contacts are made aware of this problem and enable them and Kent Police to act promptly at a fraction of the cost. Top The Police already have my keyholder details - why change now? Like any area of business it is essential to improve levels of service in line with our customer requirements.
